Ahan M R is a highly accomplished Data Scientist with a passion for leveraging cutting-edge technologies to solve real-world problems. He holds a Master of Science in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. Currently, Ahan works as a Data Scientist in the Search Sciences Team at Lowe's India, where he is responsible for improving the search experience using session-based recommendation systems and Query Reformulation models. He has also successfully completed research internships at Microsoft Research India and American Express AI Labs. In addition, Ahan has won the Smart India Hackathon in 2019/20 under the Ministry of Railways. Ahan has a strong research background and has successfully published two research papers in the area of Computer Vision/Natural Language Processing. His research focuses on AI-assisted Cell-Level Fault Detection and Localisation in Solar PV Electroluminescence Images and Towards Automatic Transformer-based Cloud Classification and Segmentation. Furthermore, he is currently working on a few applied research problems in the area of multilingual language models and health-care based Computer Vision problems. Ahan's technical expertise includes Research Scientist, Search, Data Scientist, AI, Computer Vision, Recommendation systems, language models, NLP, BERT, Object detection, ML, Object Detection, Deep Learning, and Neural Networks. He has also worked as a Teaching Assistant for BITS F312: Neural Networks and Fuzzy Logic, where he conducted tutorials and labs on building Image and Text-based AI Models and held InHouse Kaggle competitions as part of the coursework.
